Hein van Dam and Carolien Vlieger met in June 1999. This meeting was to be the beginning of their relationship and subsequently the beginning of the brand Vlieger & Vandam. 'Guardian Angel' was the first in a series of striking bags. It makes a strong statement about the growing rates of crime and violence. The idea grew out of the increasing number of stories in the news that focused on lawlessness and antisocial behaviour. People's perceptions and the fear of violence soon grew to be greater than the number of crimes actually committed. As a response, Vlieger & Vandam wanted to give people the impression of feeling secure, arming them with a 'Guardian Angel' handbag. The Dachshund series are the latest addition to Rushfaster.
